LOGOS: The Powerful Seed of the Word of God
Monday Jun 03, 2024
Monday Jun 03, 2024
The opening verse (John 1:1) states: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Here, "Word" is a translation of the Greek "logos," which is understood to refer to Jesus Christ.
In the parable of the Sower, Jesus compares the Word of God to seed sown by a farmer. The seed falls on different types of soil, representing the various responses of people to the Word. The seed that falls on good soil represents those who hear the Word, accept it, and produce a bountiful harvest.
The concept of logos as the powerful seed of the Word of God highlights the dynamic and life-giving nature of the divine Word. It underscores the importance of engaging with Scripture, living out its teachings, and sharing it with others. This metaphor illustrates the transformative power of the Word to bring new life, growth, and abundant spiritual harvest.

BEMA: What the Judgement is About Pt.2

Friday May 17, 2024
The Judgment Seat of Christ, also known as the Bema Seat of Christ, is a theological concept within Christianity that refers to a future event where believers will stand before Jesus Christ to give an account of their lives and receive rewards based on their faithfulness and deeds done in this life. This concept is primarily derived from passages in the New Testament, particularly 2 Corinthians 5:10, which says, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad" (NIV).
Unlike the final judgment, where unbelievers will face eternal separation from God, the Judgment Seat of Christ is specifically for believers. It is not a judgment of condemnation but rather an evaluation of believers' lives and service to determine their rewards in the eternal kingdom. This judgment is based on the quality of believers' works, their faithfulness to God, their obedience to his will, and the motives behind their actions.

The Mandate

The mandate of a Christian, often referred to as the Great Commission, is derived from Jesus Christ's words to his disciples before ascending into heaven.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Christians are called to spread the message of Jesus Christ and make disciples of all nations. This involves sharing the good news of salvation through faith in Christ, inviting others to follow Jesus, and helping them grow in their relationship with God.
