Shemen Camp Session 4: The Rising of Saviours Pt.1
Typically, the phrase "saviour" refers to someone who rescues or protects people from harm, danger, or tough conditions. A saviour can be a religious or spiritual figure, a hero in a story or mythology, or someone who selflessly helps those in need in numerous circumstances.
In Christianity, the saviour refers to Jesus Christ. According to Christian belief, Jesus is the Son of God who came to earth as a human being to save humanity from sin and reconcile them with God. The central concept in Christianity is that through his life, death, and resurrection, Jesus offered salvation and eternal life to all who believe in him and accept him as their saviour.
Christians consider Jesus to be the fulfilment of prophecies in the Old Testament and the long-awaited Messiah who was prophesied to come and redeem humanity. His teachings, miracles, and sacrificial death on the cross are fundamental aspects of Christian faith and the means through which believers can attain forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
