4. Godliness is Piety (Devoutness and Dutifulness) Towards God. The term comes from the Latin pietas, which originally expressed a complex virtue of respect and duty toward gods, country, parents, and kin. In a religious context, it specifically means a filial respect and devotion to God.

Piety means Godly Reverence. This is the most common meaning, referring to a deep reverence or devotion to God and the devout fulfillment of religious duties. Devoutness means deep religious feeling or commitment.

Dutifulness means conscientiously or obediently fulfilling one’s duty. No fertish priest fails to serve the gods (2 Timothy 2:4). Be blessed as you listen to this thought provoking and challenging message from our father!
